Book Passion for Life

book review ; wrapped up in you from carole matthews

I would like to give 6/5 but I couldn’t but for me it’s 6 Janie is a haidresser in a town . She lives alone in a house she had bought when her ex boyfriend and her slipt several years ago. It’s the time before Christmas .. Around her, everyone is asking about her love life which is desertic . Her best friend Nina wants her to find the good one .Nina is married to Gerry who doesn’t seem to be a really nice man . One day one, of one of her client tells her that she went to Kenya to the maasai mara village on a safari where she had great holidays .She adds that the landscape and animals are so beautiful . Janie first doesn’t think she is a woman to do such a trip . Nina decided to propose Janie a blind date : at least Janie accepts ..It has been an awful moment and Lewis, the date, doesn’t want to understand that Janie is not interested so he is harassing her all days even to her home . To escape to Lewis , Janie decided to go to Kenya and then she met Dominic a maasai mara warrior dressed In traditional clothes .He is the guide for the group of tourists .. The quickly became closed to each other .. While returning home , they are truly missing to each other so she decided to go again in Kenya and she is now sure to be in love of Dominic .At her return in England, she proposed him to go to England and he accepts . His new life and their new life in England together won’t be easy ..He has in his mind his culture which is far to different from the western one . They will be confronted to misunderstanding from many of Janie friends (especially her best friend Nina) and they are quite rude to this different man who truly tries to be integrated in this society .. Hopefully there is Mike (Janie neighbors ) who is in love with her but who will do his best to welcome her lover and makes her happy. Oops I forget archibal the cat who also love Dominic  Her other neighbors are also here to meet Dominic and to make him spend his time in England Will Dominic finally succeed in living as an English man ? Will their love survive to the critics and to the bad behaviors of her supposed friends ? Will Dominic will miss truly his family ? Will Mike will find love too and will he still be a great friend with Janie and Dominic ? Many things will happened in their lives in the first months . This was a amazing book : I really loved it so love it I should admit .I couldn’t put it down (that caused me so many late nights). I have loved the description of the Kenya and the safari (I used to do one when I was young and it was great to read about it I feel like I was in Africa again). The question of the 2 cultures is well explained and the difficulties that they met is really true ..my only point is that now an African man won’t be allowed to have an holiday visa so easily . The bad reaction and the way that janie’s friends welcome her new love is also real in the daily life and so well written in the book .Janie ‘s feeling to this are also well described and the depth of her love too. Carole Matthews did a great work her and it is such a different book from the Christmas ones to that I love it even more

the magic of christmas from trisha ashley ; book review

I gave 5/5 stars

In Middlemoss lives Lizzy ..her son Jasper and her husband Tom . Lizzy and Tom are not getting on well .. One day something happened to Tom and Lizzy become a widower . Her lovely son leaves for the university so Lizzy is alone at home .But not at all as, there are Ritch and nick looking after her and also her community of CPC (Christmas Pudding Cercle ).. Ritch works for the TV and is not often at home .Lizzy is pet sitting his dog when he is can’t do himself .he also likes women in general but he tries to win lizzy heart .. Nick is more down to earth , married but on the way to divorce with his wife .He likes to cook ..so does Lizzy .He usually sends her recipes he finds while he is travelling ..He tries to be always here when Lizzy needs help .He also tried to win Lizzy heart So who’s gonna win Lizzy heart who is deeply engaged in her CPC group preparing the Christmas celebration with her friends of her place Annie her friend will be a great support during all the book and will also have some surprises in her life .. Lots of gossiping are in Middlemoss especially about Lizzy’s last husband tom who has been unfaithful to her with several women .. Even if it’s a rewrite of one of her old book “Sweet Nothings” I was really happy to read this story as it’s always nice to read Trisha Ashley books .We always have additional recipes in the book .In addition to that, reading about cooking is always great .The fact that it is situated in a small place is well explained in the book as really realistic with gossiping, help between the members of the village, small meetings ..I was like absorbed by the story as usual so I can say that it is a great book to me .
