Book review : where rainbows end from Cecelia Ahern

This is the story of Alex and Rosie who are best friends since their young age . we can see their friend ship going on over the years despite the fact that Alex had to moved to the US with his family . Rosie had a difficult life having a girl at the age of 18; she saw all her dreams going into ashes and was she confronted to the real life of a young mother. During this period, Alex moved to Harvard to become a heart doctor . One fact is they quite never lost contact with each other despite their own life and their own difficulties to deal with life . They were quite always supportive to each other and very helpful in the other’s life. During all those years, they will be in touch via instant messages, letters, invitations, e-mails. So don’t be surprised by the form of the book. There are many people involved in their life such as their husband and wives; Alex’s brother Phil ; Rosie family: Stephanie Kevin and her parents; Rosie best friend Ruby ..But we are also involve in the story of Katie (Rosie’s daughter) and Toby who is her best friend . The big question of the book is : is a friendship between a man and a woman possible without turning in a love affair? Or can it be possible to be best friend with someone who is the opposite gender without messing up our own life ? My favorite character is Rosie : we see her fighting all over the years and she never gave up for the love of her child Katie. She was really down to eath too. Alex was also a nice person such as Ruby who were always here to help Rosie . The book is really well done. First I was on the way to put it down when I saw it was only instant messages and emails but the story is so nicely written that It quickly becomes really addictive . I wanted to know what was going next , what will happen to them, what they will answer to the other one . So I kept ready until late in the night .. It’s at the same time a funny by the way they talk and by some funny times and sad book : I was so involved in Rosie’s life that sometimes I wanted to cry when I saw another bad thing happened to her. SO Cecelia Ahern did a great job again . I have loved so much this book .

Book review : twelve days of Christmas from Trisha Ashley

Holly brown lives in Lancashire .She lost her husband in terrible conditions height years ago near Christmas and she still doesn’t want to celebrate Christmas . Her grandmother has just died and left her all her diaries to read . Holly is a chef in the summer : she usually cooks for families parties, whereas in winter she is a house sitter and pet sitter . Holly was on the way to celebrate, against her will, Christmas with her best friend Laura,a when her boss, Ellen, phoned and asked her to go to an emergency pet sitting .. She quite went there reluctantly as there is a horse to take care and she doesn’t know how to take care of a horse. The owner of the house Jude Martland has escaped his house to escape the usual Christmas period with his family . Last year; he was on the way to be married and his fiancé just went away with his brother. Holly arrived and quickly met the family : Noel , Tilda, Jess but also Becca and other people close to this family .But Jude is not happy with Holly at his home with her inexperience of horses ..The first phoning exchanges are awful . Finally under unexpected circumstances; the family will be reunified in Old Place and Holly will have to cook for all of them. How the all of them will spend those twelve days together? Will Holly finally like to cook for this huge family ? Will the tensions in the family will ease ? What will Holly discover in her grandmother diary ? My favorite character is Holly : he is very kind to those who are nice with her but also can have a strong character to those who are not nice to her . She works really hard and she is devoted to both her jobs: cooking and pet sitting . Coco is the strangest character here . She was supposed to be engaged to Jude’s brother and things has changed that she doesn’t want to admit . She is most of the time hysterical. Jess is a young teenager who truly misses her parents and tries to find love where she can; she will have a great admiration for Holly Noel and Tilda are also really nice but not able to take care of themselves . It’s typically a Trisha Ashley book. With lots of nature, lots of cooking and recipes .I always love the recipes in trisha ashley books . The book is easy to read and I found it difficult to put it down . I’ve loved the fact that it was in a family situation and how they decide to prepare Christmas despite the difficult circumstances . As usual we find some jealousy and gossiping as it is in a small place ..I really enjoyed the book til the end ;) Happy ending as usual too . Great Christmas novel: good job Trisha

During their teenage hood , Daria , her sister Chloé , her cousin , and the neighbors Rory , Linda , Cindy and others used to spend their summer holidays in Kill Devil Hills near the seaside. One day, after a huge storm Daria,11 years old, found a newborn on the sea side on the morning. She brought her back home . Her parents took great care of her and adopted her as Shelly . Twenty two years letter, Shelly, Daria and Chloé are still living at shanky house. Shelly who is suffering from seizures is a housekeeper at the local church ; Daria is a carpenter and Chloé is a teacher and a nun . Shelly is morally very fragile and Daria overprotects her. Rory who works for the television (true life stories program) in California decides to go back to Kill Devil Hills for the summer with his son Jack .He is recently divorced .He has received a letter from Shelly asking him to find her parents again. When Daria and Chloé knows why he is back they are very reluctant to see him again . Grace, on her side, lives with her husband Eddie and has seen that Rory is back to found the parents of Shelly, and, Grace will try to enter in Shelly ‘s life . But why ? Will Rory will succeed in finding the truth about this morning where this child has been left on the beach ? Will this secret will be discovered? Will Shelly will find out who are her parents without being hurt ? Why grace truly wants to intrude herself in Shelly’s life ? I really enjoyed seing the story going by and how Rory is investigating around the cul de sac where they all used to live . I also loved to see how Rory will take care of not hurting Shelly with his results and will promise Daria not to tell her if it will be hurtful The book was easy and nice to read . I truly love the ending of the story quite unespected, but a lovely ending . The character I enjoy the most was Shelly so fragile so openhearted to everyone . She tries to be kind with everyone and she knows everyone where she lived . She also meet the summer holidays residents . My second favorite character Is Daria : she has taken care of Shelly since she found her and she lives with the necessity of Shelly life ; Shelly can’t be living away from where she has been found so Daria sacrified her love life to stay with her sister ..

Poppy Wyatt is going to be married to Magnus Lavish . She has a beautiful engagement ring which come from the Lavishes family . But what happened ? She lost it in a reception in a hotel . She looked for it until the hotel staff told her they will ring to her .But another problem while going out of the hotel someone steals her mobile. What is she going to do ? while she is searching her ring, she finally looks in a bin and what’s in the a mobile phone !! So she decides to take the mobile as it is in the bin it is for her nobody will claim for it. And she will be able to give her number to the hotel staff again. But no the phone beeps and it’s a man who wonders who is at the other hand of the line .But Sam Roxton truly wants his company phone back . He agrees to let the phone to Poppy for a few days due to the problem . And then the difficult relationship between Poppy and Sam will start ..Poppy can’t stop reading Sam’s emails and Sam doesn’t like it .. On the other side, the relation with the Lavishes is not really nice. Poppy feels that she is not at the same level as them and she wonders how she will going to deal with that Poppy is a special person . She wants to help and to be recognized . She is always nice. I really appreciate her Sam at the beginning was a bit rude to Poppy but we understand his point of view it’s a company mobile phone and business he doesn’t want everyone to know what happened in his firm . I really love how he changes during the book and understand that he was a bit wrong. I didn’t really like Magnus. He is not trustful and I won’t even trust someone like him. I really love Sophie Kinsella stand alone book . It’s was laughing out loud while reading : So hilarious . We follow all Poppy adventure with fun . It’s really hard to put the book down . I was used to Becky Bloomwood but I also like Poppy . Sophie Kinsella did a great job .Her book is full of fun, love, crisis, footnotes (don’t miss them they are funny ), misunderstanding and all of that just before Poopy’s wedding ..i wished I would have a life like that .. Must be read book ;)

Book review : lovely bones by Alice Sebold

I gave 5/5 This is the story of Susie Salmon, salmon like the fish as she said . She has been murdered on her way back from school in her teens . She was on the way to have a boyfriend Ray a beautiful Indian guy and to discover life and her murderer mr Harvey stole that to her . She is between earth and heaven as she doesn’t want to leave her family and friends and Mr Harvey . She wants to see if he could be caught by the police . We saw Susie watching all her family for several years and to see how they cope with this loss . Susie’s father is the most affected as he used to play a lot with his daughter . Susie has one sister Lindsey and one brother Buckley . There is also Ruth the one who have contacts with dead people and who feel Susie when she is close to her .. Will Susie succeed in going to heaven and to left her life on earth ? How will her family and friends will cope with her death during all the book ? How Susie will cope in not having the chance to live her first love and all that Mr Harvey stole to her? I found this book heart taking but I’ve loved it .Susie talks during all the book and listen .So we know all about her thoughts and regrets but also her joy to see her sister living her own life . But she always thinks that she should have discovered life before her as she was the oldest one . I love Susie character a lot she is honest really sensitive and down to earth .She doesn’t want to lose her objective : that the police caught Mr Harvey and that she won’t be able to kill other girls as she wasn’t the first one . I also love her father and Lindsey a lot they never stop searching what happened to Susie . It was my first book of Alice Sebold Concerning the book and the film: the book is much more detailed and much more longer than the film . Sometimes the film doesn’t fit at all the book and I found that bad . But the film was good too. So I’ve seen the film first and I was happy to have a face to put on the characters I would recommend you to read the book first and see the movie after

book review ; the captain's daughter from leah fleming

I give 5/5 This story starts with the disaster of the Titanic where lots of people died . May was a third class traveler with her husband Joe and their child Ellen . Celeste was a first class traveler and she was coming back from burring her mother in England .She was on her way back to the USA in Akron where lives her husband Grover and her son Roddy (Roderick ) Celeste has been the first on the lifeboat and then they rescued May .Celeste tries to help May as much as she could to help her survive ..Suddenly the captain of the boat gives a baby to May thinking it was hers .May at first didn’t see it wasn’t hers .. Arriving on the safety boat ; May discovered it wasn’t her lovely daughter but kept it for herself . Celeste promised to be on her side until she decides what to do with her life . Angelo was waiting in New York for his wife and daughter .The only thing she found was her daughter’s shoe from a special handmade from Italy where he comes from .. So we will follow those 3 characters and their family living all along the book especially after the sinking of the boat and during the 2 world wars . How will they live after such a disaster ? How will the friendship between Celeste and May will grow? How May would live with such a secret about her adoptive daughter ? It was my first book from leah fleming and I must admit it was hard to put the book down ..i really enjoyed how the things are written and how things will goes between all of them. It is a heart taking book . I love the ending but I can’t say more about it no ‘spoiling’ . I enjoyed most of the characters except Grover .He is a bad man . I loved how their children grow up and lived their live thinking of the titanic disaster . So it was a great discovery and I really loved this book ..

I give 5/5 Bella has gave up with love . After a disaster with Rick, she decides to live her life. But her ex husband James came back in her life with the only wish to sell the house she is living in with their 2 children Alex and Molly . Bella is determined to stay in that house and doesn’t want to go somewhere else .The house is well situated and she doesn’t know why only 10 years after he left home James is interested in selling it . Bella has paid a good part of it .But she has seen her job as a writer a magazine reduced so she truly need more money . Bella had an offer she can’t refuse : to have tv reality show filmed in her house . So she accepts and meet all the crew .The cast is constituted of her writers friends . So we will follow all the cast and crew making this reality shop happened in her house and around . There is also Shirley Bella’s mother who is well dressed and a grandmother that every teen like Molly will love to have ..Shirley is like a young lady living totally her life . She has a boyfriend Dennis . Molly is a teen wanting to have a normal life as a teen ..with her friend Giles . Saul is the director of the tv reality show and has to deal with some strong personalities like daisy and his step daughter . How will all of that will go on ? will everyone will find peace is their life ? I loved Bella character she is so nice and tries to be a good mother and tries to deal with her life . Her ex James is a boring person who only sees the selling of the house , comes into the house without being invited ; tries to have his pair of keys but forgot that Bella has changed the alarm code .He never pays his bill at the restaurant so not a nice guy to me .. Shirley is really nice too and I loved seeing her love life going on and she is really nice to her daughter and to her granddaughter too . I really love this book ..this is my first book from Judy Astley .and I’m happy to have discovered it ;). I also love the subject of the tv reality show ..
